San Francisco-based certified Green builders, Design Solutions, has taken its work to the next threshold by transforming a Glen Park property into one of the highest green-rated, energy efficient, non-toxic and spectacular living environments in San Francisco. Design Solutions, Brian Butler and Pat Loughran formed a strategic partnership to expand the capabilities of “Green” residential building, and their new project has hit the mark.

The partners brought in the expertise of Nick Arnold of Port Costa Builders to add to the talents of the design team. Mr. Arnold has built over 50 residential buildings and overseen major remodeling projects all over the Bay Area. He is the contractor of record for Home and Garden Television's Curb Appeal and Landscape Smart, and he knows the saleability of his projects.

This newly constructed custom “Green” Craftsman-style home in the heart of Glen Park is equipped with radiant heat power, Xantrex solar powered panels providing complete solar electric, reclaimed wood floors, rain water catchment system, Hardie fiber cement siding, low VOC paints & caulks and Brondel Perfect Flush toilet seats giving it the building elements to achieve its high efficiency ratings.

Design Solutions is a member of the United States Green Building Council, Build it Green, Green Remodelers Guild, Co-op America and has certifications from ASID, CCIDC, NKBA and NARI.
